True collaboration is difficult to achieve. We all have different ideas about achieving an objective. Often we are reticent in abandoning our ideas in favor of someone else’s. A collaborative approach can help to move a project forward. It can teach us when to defend an idea,or approach, and when to let it go in favor of someone else’s idea, which might be better. The objective of this lesson is to incorporate 21st Century collaboration skills with real time scientific data that they will collect, to allow students to understand, evaluate, and solve collaborative a problem in either biology, or environmental science. Each team will be presented with real world data, but not necessarily the same data as other teams they will be required to come a consensus within their team, before presenting their ideas to other teams.
