Recognition and Retention for Educators - How Can We Keep Teachers in the Classroom?

The goal of this Education Transfer Plan (ETP) is to provide both school and district leadership with an enhanced structure to better acknowledge teachers in authentic ways, both formally and informally. This project will focus on teacher recognition and retention with an emphasis on personalized acknowledgement. In particular, I am hoping to foster a shift toward both more frequent and real-time recognition, as well as redesigning the current “milestone” recognitions in our district. First, I will approach our teacher leadership board to propose recruiting a small group of members to more clearly identify areas of need/growth. We will bring our final recommendations to both school and district leadership groups, with the goal of implementing them during the 2025-2026 school year.
