Rocket Launch

2015

This exercise encourages students to develop hypotheses, conduct an experiment partially of their own design, and develop methods for data collection and data analysis. Students launch bottle-rockets (using empty soda bottles) of varying circumference and length and measure the distance traveled by each bottle rocket. Students use these measurements to create graphs of their data using google sheets, and analyze and interpret their data to determine the relationship between a) bottle circumference and launch distance and b) bottle length and launch distance.
