Severe Weather is an online inquiry-based unit developed with the WISE (Web-based Inquiry Science Environment) platform.
Fluid motion plays a critical role in regulating Earth's climate, for example through the transport of heat by ocean currents and winds in the atmosphere. The Earth’s rotation strongly constrains the dynamics of these motions and thus shapes how the climate works.
During this lesson, students will conduct an in-class activity that will focus on their ability to synthesize information regarding how the position of the sun and earth determine Earth’s annual seasons.
