This project addresses the "Connections" standard of the 5 C’s in ACTFL’s World Readiness Standards for Learning Languages. World language students will use technology as a tool to research, organize and communicate information about their vision for the ideal school. They will learn to use Excel to organize data that they collect about parents’, teachers’ and students’ preferences regarding multiple aspects of the ideal school, such as course offerings and schools rules. Then, they will generate Pivot Charts to clearly communicate this data. Next, they will incorporate these PivotCharts into a proposal for their vision of the ideal school. Finally, they will learn to take care with spelling, capitalization, organization and consistent formatting in order to produce a report that is polished, professional, well formatted, and adapted to their target audience.
