Evaluating Alternative Sources of Water
Web link opens in a new tab; file link initiates download.
The goal of this ETP is to help students develop a greater ability to form arguments from evidence found in texts by evaluating a variety of evidence claims about alternative sources of water. Students will read supplied articles, and research other primary, secondary, and web-based science literature, in order to arrive at their own opinion about which alternative water sources might be best for our state’s water needs. They will use that evidence to make arguments supporting the use of: recycled wastewater (direct/indirect potable reuse), greywater collection/reuse, increasing rainwater collection, or desalination of seawater. The students will present their arguments as part of a class discussion.
