Optimizing ride-sharing

The goal of this ETP is to give students the opportunity to observe, define, and solve a problem. They will build a simulator to show the optimization of a controller built to direct a fleet of rideshare vehicles and the employees that "rebalance" the network of vehicles. Students will have to break up the components the controller and simulator to determine the best way to structure their program. They will then work in parallel teams, leaving them to figure out how to distribute and coordinate the work. This will require excellent critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration and communication skills.
