Organization is the key

The 6s standard represents safety, sustainability, standardize, straighten, sort, and shine. Lockheed Martin believes one of the most significant incentives to apply the 6s standard is cost savings. This ETP will bring the 6s model to my highschool biology classroom. After explaining the 6s standard, students will formulate a plan of action regarding how to properly arrange their laboratory material in an efficient and safe manner prior to the start of any lab. Students will learn how to be self directed and empowered to take ownership of their lab stations, and the cleaning of lab stations at the conclusion of the activity. To aid students with creating their own 6s model, they will look for patterns involved in organization and classification and apply this newly acquired knowledge to their home environment.
