Outrageous Fortune

Basic Idea. Take old public information about US Corporations and ask groups of students to take hypothetical control of these companies. The teacher will go through the years and provide large global or national events from specific years. The students will problem solve to predict the effect of the events on their company’s stock value. The teacher will then reveal the company’s actual stock performance in the time following the event. This process will be repeated 2 times to allow collaboration and team building. The students will then predict the company’s stocks response to the 2016 election and predict who will win, using a day of research. Then we will wait for events to unfold over the school year and continue to follow the stock values.
