Planning for An Effective IEP Team Meeting

The goal of this Education Transfer Plan is (ETP) is to instruct new special education teachers in how to plan for and lead a structured, student-centric Individual Education Plan (IEP) team meeting. IEP team meetings are cross-functional meetings consisting of parents, special education teachers, general education teachers, and an administrator, at a minimum, but may also consist of specialists such as Speech Language Pathologists, Behaviorists, and many other people.

At Amazon Lab126, customers are the primary focus of all business decisions. I will utilize the standard Amazon narrative (aka white paper) procedure, along with a slide presentation, on how to work with a cross-functional team to develop an IEP within a specific timeframe. I will also talk about how to lead an IEP meeting that is customer focused (the student and parents) while still meeting all of the federal requirements required under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA 2004).
