Solar Array for EV Charging Station: Design and Construction

A Solar Array is the main component of a PV system that requires a precise design, and is constructed based on the needs of a PV system. The energy needed to operate, charge or maintain a system is determined by the operational requirements and capacity of the system and Solar Array. Students will be responsible for the design, testing and construction of a Solar Array for an EV Charging Station. Students will further evaluate the Photovoltaic process will learn and apply a multitude of STEM principles in the design and construction of Solar Array for the EV Charging Station.
In addition to the student learning and applying STEM standards and principles in the area of Photovoltaics, the student will apply 21st Century Skills in critical thinking, innovation, collaboration and hands on applications. The student’s sustained and required commitment to a long term team project will sufficiently prepare the student in context for STEM related careers and beyond.
