A Study of Standards Across the Grade Levels Through Classroom Observations

At Amazon Lab 126, my primary focus is to help employees find readily accessible training opportunities, so that they can develop skills for their own positions, but to also learn about the different components of the operations and supply chain at Amazon. Utilizing the corporate training model for professional development, I have created a professional development session for my fellow teacher colleagues.

The goal of this Education Transfer Plan (ETP) is to allow my fellow colleagues the opportunity to learn from one another. Teachers will identify specific Common Core Standards or topics to focus on, then, observe a fellow colleague in a virtual classroom setting. The purpose of the observation is to note the teaching techniques used in a lesson that meets the previously agreed upon Common Core Standards or topic of focus. Lastly, teachers will be given the opportunity to share and reflect on their observations with a fellow colleague. The intention of this professional development session is to provide teachers with a way to actively build knowledge about content standards, while learning new teaching techniques from one another.
