We are Diverse: Diversity in Kindergarten

At Amazon, I worked with their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion(DEI) council to find better ways of communicating DEI goals and initiatives to their fellow Amazonian family. With my mentor I had the privilege of sitting in on a plethora of meetings, conducting one-on-one interviews, as well as reading through their many resources related to the Amazon culture and DEI within that culture. I am bringing my experience around DEI learning and communicating said learning to my students through a lesson that both defines and expresses the importance of the Diversity in DEI to individuals and within a community. In order for this lesson to be hands-on and engaging for my students, I am including multimedia such as videos and images. My students also have the opportunity to discuss with one another and to draw their understanding of the concept.
