Women have been notable members of numerous space shuttle missions into space. As a matter of fact, more than 30 of NASA’s space shuttle missions have included more than one woman.
The goal of this ETP is to expose students, especially females, to the extent of women’s involvement and accomplishment in the Space exploration field. In addition, students will learn the extent of influence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) educational backgrounds on the career path of women in Space exploration fields. Each student researches one female astronaut that has made an impact in the Aeronautics and Space arena and presents his/her project to the class using PowerPoint or Prezi.
To help students at all language proficiency levels incorporate higher levels of
academic language into their writing and presentation, teacher incorporates
Sentence Starters and Signal Words.
