Students with learning disabilities (SLDs) struggle with organizational skills, a consistent predictor of success in academic settings as well as in the workforce. These students, therefore, need explicit instruction on time management to help them develop independent skills in time management. This lesson will engage students in activities to explore how to effectively manage time. The instruction will demonstrate the negative impact of missing an assignment and earning a zero point in the regular education coursework. Each students will establish personal academic goals, for the trimester, that align with his/her Individualized Education Plan (IEP). A grade of “C” or better is generally the baseline of each student’s IEP.
