Medical Mystery: A Parasite Puzzle is a 10-day learning module designed for middle school in which students will research, discuss, and ultimately diagnose a disease caused by a particular parasite.
Students will develop background knowledge about nanoscience and biomimicry to engage in a hands-on lesson where they explore how various natural materials react when exposed to water and other contaminants.
Students will be able to observe and measure the built wetlands habitat and describe the ecosystem interactions as well as evidence of resilience.
Students will collect water samples from a local stream and measure various aspects of water quality.
Students will explore the differences between linear and circular systems and the implications. They will visit a transfer station and learn about circular and linear systems.
Pre-Calculus introduces topics that become crucial to the continuum of topics of higher level math such as Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and beyond.
Students will investigate the water quality of Arroyo Valle Creek, analyze historical and current data, and design a community action to improve local watershed health.
Making a personal, achievable commitment to reduce one’s carbon output and indirectly impact ocean acidification.
The goal of this ETP is to see how Amazonian principles can be applied in the classroom to reinvent the laboratory design process with the help of collaboration. In the science classroom, laboratory procedures are generally provided for students.
