This integrated, full-day curriculum transforms a 7th/8th-grade math class into a real-world environmental data firm. Moving away from abstract word problems, students act as Sustainability Data Analysts to tackle California’s real-world food waste crisis. They apply advanced algebraic equations, multi-step unit conversions, and systems of linear modeling to calculate the financial and environmental footprints of local businesses.
