To teach an introductory computer network lesson to an 8th grade class at Claire Lilienthal School in San Francisco. To teach what a network is, its purpose and function, and how it relates to the World Wide Web, the internet. For my lesson, I will have visual images of the basic structure of a network and what the devices in the ecosystem look like. I will individually go over the role of each machine as it pertains to the architecture. In addition, as part of my lesson, I will reference the Cisco “Introduction to Networks” (Companion Guide – Cisco Networking Academy, 2013). Furthermore, how this Education Transfer Plan (ETP) ties into my CISCO-IISME 2015 Summer Fellowship, is that much of CISCO’s product line supports companies and school districts computer network ecosystems. In addition, “Cisco's dominance in data networking is clear. Its Ethernet switches and routers, which move data along local computer networks, are considered the gold standard by network managers.” (Source: “Cisco Remains a Dominant Force in Data Networking by Ilya Kundozerov)
