Navigating Life In A Connected World - The Internet of (every day) Things

This lesson introduces students to the burgeoning Internet of Things. Students will develop schema by first reviewing the history of the internet from conception to current day and by playing a game called the IoE Cauldron. Simultaneously they will be introduced to core technologies including the 7-layer OSI abstraction model, 4-layer TCP/IP, Routers, and Gateways. Students will then begin to examine the impact of the world wide web in their own lives. Finally they will develop and express opinions about the implications of a world in which everything is connected.
