Practitioners Looking Closely.

My school spends half its professional development (PD) hours in self-selected committees. I lead a committee focused on practitioner research -- the Cycle of Inquiry Committee. This committee meets twice a month, for a total of two hours, and we have four release days during the school year. Our committee’s goal is to support our members as they systematically consider students’ learning and how it intersects teaching. This ETP focuses on using teacher reflections to both support their understanding of student learning and my understanding of our team’s learning to engage in collegial discussions focused on data. I will use my assessment of our team’s success in building a collaborative culture to better communicate with an outside consultant who is supporting our Committee’s work.
