Students will design and build a model of a mini biodigester as a hands-on project to help them apply their understanding of the purpose and function of the human digestive system.
Our Local Bioeconomy
Students will learn the fundamentals of the local Ag bioeconomy industry as a whole, and then giving them hands on participation in a PBL by allowing them to actually take our food waste in the cafeteria, separating it safely and efficiently, teaching their peers how to do it correctly over time

Heat Content in Nutshells
Students will be burning nut shells in order to calculate which releases the most heat energy, in a classic calorimetry experiment. Then, students will use their calculations to find how many nutshells it would take to power the average California home.
