This unit will give a hands-on example of how kinematics and mechanical analysis applies to the work done by the Failure Analysis/Reliability Engineering team at Oculus. Students will learn about the goals of the Reliability Team and tools they use to accomplish their goal.
This ETP is designed to provide teachers with a couple sample lessons to use for incorporating high speed video cameras into their classroom. These 2 lessons will involve both the use of high speed cameras and the analysis of footage obtained from them.
The objective of this lesson is for the students to utilize content they have learned in my physics class to complete an engineering challenge. Students must angle mirrors appropriately in order to direct a laser beam onto a target.
This set of lessons aims to teach students about error in measurement, how to quantify uncertainty, propagation of uncertainty, and using the slope of the line of best fit.
Students analyze real SVCWD data to calculate water properties, flow rates, and energy use throughout the wastewater treatment process, apply dimensional analysis and engineering reasoning, and evaluate efficiency and costs through hands-on activities and group projects.
Traditionally, the etching of silicon wafers is a guess and check process- the manufactures guess the depth of the features for a given design, produce the wafer, and check if the process was successful. This process of nanomanufacturing is wasteful.
Students with disabilities often require assistive technology devices to communicate their needs and wants, in addition to accessing various curriculum and lessons.
This project will focus on the statistical methodologies I encountered in the CDR Lab work and apply these in a professional development for teachers looking at improving Habits of Success for students in our school network.
