CyberEthics: Ethics

Ignited
2022

In this lesson, students will first see what it means to give “passive” consent when using certain websites or applications, exploring how laws, acts, and amendments have developed over time as technology and society's values have changed. Through a series of case studies, they will learn what important ethical issues arise in cybersecurity, look at common ethical challenges for cybersecurity professionals, explore the obligations of cybersecurity experts to the public, and investigate current cybersecurity best practices.
Students will perform skits demonstrating “best practices for living ethically” and relate those practices to cybersecurity.
