The "From Waves to Wellness: Exploring Health Equity through Medical Imaging Physics" ETP is a three-day lesson designed for high school physics classes. This lesson aims to deepen students' understanding of health equity issues by examining the role of medical imaging technologies from a physics perspective. Through research, analysis, modeling, and presentation, students explore how access to advanced medical imaging can impact equitable healthcare outcomes. The lesson addresses learning standard HS-ETS1-3. By exploring real-world examples, students develop critical thinking skills, scientific inquiry, and an awareness of societal issues. The lesson includes an introduction day, research and analysis day, and presentation day, providing a comprehensive and interactive learning experience. This lesson empowers students to connect physics principles to the broader context of health equity and encourages them to consider the ethical dimensions of equitable access to medical imaging technologies.
