When Stroke Strikes

Students will use “When Stroke Strikes” to learn about the mechanisms of stroke, and why strokes are a health threat. The lesson is built around an easily accessed short video and includes scaffolding in the form of a vocabulary activity, interactive partner activity, and a short quiz to check for understanding. This lesson could be used in a biology or physiology class to explore interactions between two body systems (circulatory and nervous), or as a gateway to a larger public health unit.
