In this 8th grade physical science laboratory activity about chemical reactions, students are challenged to: 1) create a reaction that would be suitable to deploy a car's airbag; and 2) construct a model of an airbag that will provide enough cushion to protect a hard-boiled egg.
This Education Transfer Plan (ETP) is to promote classroom teamwork and academic learning through technology by utilizing Google Drive. Students will create, edit, and share their thoughts, ideas, and questions in real-time.
The purpose of this ETP is to create and implement a staff development lesson for faculty and staff to help build a more collaborative, cohesive community and effective team, where all members are valued stakeholders.
In this activity, students will learn that energy changes from one form to another, and that the total amount of energy in a closed system remains constant.
The goal of this ETP is to engage students in a hands-on engineering project. This ETP is composed of two design challenges. The students should be divided into groups of 4.
The recently adopted Next Generation Science Standards include both content and engineering standards. In order to encourage engineering thinking and design skills, a current adaptation lab was reworked to add an engineering component. Give Me a Beak!
Social Learning has been found to be an effective professional development tool, even more efficient than formal in-class trainings that rely on handouts and presentations.
The purpose of this teacher staff development is to prepare teachers to work with a skill to manage daily stress levels, be more resilient or agile, and to pass this skill on to students to prepare them for the workforce.
