This project translates complex research in statistical mechanics and AI from the Rotskoff Group at Stanford into accessible, hands-on learning experiences for high school students.
In this lesson, students will learn about computer simulations for engineering before they develop a GPA calculator and visualizer using a spreadsheet program (Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel).
The CyberLearning team at SRI researches innovation in cyber learning education (http://circlcenter.org) and how to assess the learning gains students make in their computational thinking.
Students will develop their own algorithms for sorting and determine the complexity of the algorithm and how it scales as the number of items to sort increases.
In this series of lessons, students will engineer patterns of solar panels using low, medium, and high efficiency solar cells.
