Students will identify parts of an electric vehicle, determine their various functions through a webquest, and then use these EV parts to write a script for the next cartoon episode… “Field Trip through the Electric Vehicle”
Students will build a wind turbine using recyclable materials (or RAFT kits) and learn about the role of a generator in transforming the kinetic energy into electrical energy.
Students will build a car using recyclable materials (or RAFT kits), trace the energy transformations happening in the process, and race them!
Students will learn how solar cells are manufactured and how they capture energy, as well as how to angle a solar panel to capture the most amount of energy possible.
Students will learn about wind as a type of renewable energy--and how its kinetic energy can be transferred to another object--by building a wind-powered car.
Students will learn about climate change, and will consider how semiconductors play a role in developing energy resources that are renewable.
The purpose of this ETP is to share with my students the knowledge I have gained during this fellowship on climate action that is being implemented by corporate America to address the climate change crisis.
It’s the 21st century! Show your students that they can be a graphic designer for the tech industry too! In this ETP, Students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills beyond what they imagined.
