High Tech U Elective Course

In this semester-long elective using activities created by SEMI High Tech U, students will explore diverse education and career pathways related to high tech industries with a focus on semiconductors. In the course students will build professional skills, personal skills and make connections. The purpose of this course is to promote careers in STEM-related high-tech industries such as semiconductor manufacturing. This course is built on three pillars: •Application-focused: students put science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills to use during hands-on workshops Industry-inspired: program activities take direction from sponsor companies – we highlight the processes, tools and technology that the company specializes in and make sure the students leave with a deeper understanding •Industry-engagement: volunteers from sponsoring companies provide industry insight.
