In my fellowship at Facebook I am learning about crafting a retail communications plan for the new Meta Store that the company has built as a model on their Reality Labs campus.
At Facebook Reality Labs, I worked on documenting career expectations for certain roles within Devices. I helped document role expectations as well as help document certain roles by splitting them into Senior and Junior equivalents.
The purpose of STEM Talks! is to give high school students the opportunity to talk to scientists about their career and/or how their job is related to math and science.
How many students describe being clueless about how to learn more about the skills they learn in their classes? How many students after high school complain that they don’t understand how the skills they learned in class will translate to a real-life job they have graduated?
In this semester-long elective using activities created by SEMI High Tech U, students will explore diverse education and career pathways related to high tech industries with a focus on semiconductors. In the course students will build professional skills, personal skills and make connections.
How do we attract students to the field of science? What is it that is going to draw them into the field and keep them there? I believe that the answer to this question can be found by talking to scientists themselves.
