Students investigate engineering responsibilities, types, and soft skills through hands-on activities, card sorting, and concept mapping, then connect their own skills and interests to potential career paths.
At the Shaqfeh Lab, I worked on creating a robot that could easily move through non newtonian fluid. A non newtonian fluid is any type of fluid (gas or liquid) that does not behave like water, i.e. corn syrup, synovial fluid, molasses.
Students will sequence historical modes of transportation in chronological order, determine how they function, and identify efficiencies and challenges.
Students will learn the lifecycle of a semiconductor, from a silicon ingot to a microchip that can be installed in a complex electronic device.
Human influences, explanations, and possible solutions to ocean acidification’s impact on coral reefs are explored and presented through an interactive poster where students program their tangible posters with a microcontroller/Scratch.
