My ETP is hands-on Science Unit (5 Lessons-All About Water ) that will help students develop a greater understanding, deeper knowledge and appreciation of water and its integral part of life on this planet.
Students will learn the concept of drawing flow charts to break down difficult lab procedures. Students will begin by using labs used in the iCLEM program to practice the skill of flow charts.
The Bent Lab in Stanford’s Chemical Engineering Department focuses on studying the selective deposition of thin films in atomic layer deposition (ALD). These films are important for diffusion barriers, in integrated circuits. ALD is a subclass of chemical vapour deposition.
This ETP is designed to get students ready for inquiry based curriculum. Students will be required to base arguments on evidence provided in tables or graphs, by learning how to read them based on column headings, axis, headings, and best fit lines.
A new lesson is created enhancing students comprehension of the concepts of Chemistry with respect to formation of polymers with several applications. Problem solving and creativity using ChemDraw program and experiments are explored.
Often in the science classroom, I have students create and give a presentation that highlights what they learned about a topic.
Students will compare the strengths of oxidizing and reducing agents, and determine resistance to different etching solutions. Students will work in small groups, developing laboratory skills while conducting a lab on electroplating.
Chemistry happens in the world around us, not just in a lab. Every time we cook or clean, it's chemistry in action. Chemists actually spend a great deal of time writing and reading science literature in order to communicate their results and ideas to one another.
