Beyond the formulas and equations, STEM teaches us how to think, adapt, and solve problems when answers aren't obvious. Hear from Gayathri Natarajan, Program Manager at Synopsys, about her journey from engineer to program leader and the mentors who shaped her path.
Incorporating Aspects of the Supply Chain Into a Project Based Learning Lesson Students will be tasked with designing, prototyping, and presenting a toy to a live “trade show” to describe and demonstrate their “product.” Since MIT’s Seymour Papert transformed Piaget’s Constructivism into Construc
A Day in the Life of a Data Scientist is a short term project appropriate for any advisory space that has a college and career focus. Students will learn about non-traditional career paths such as: data scientists, machine learning engineers, program managers, and executive positions.
The purpose of STEM Talks! is to give high school students the opportunity to talk to scientists about their career and/or how their job is related to math and science.
During my fellowship at Lockheed Martin, I learned about critical communication skills and the engineering and design process in the creation of satellites. The goal of this ETP is to introduce and practice the engineering design process through a hands on STEM challenge.
I’m creating this ETP to address a problem that I’ve observed at Richmond High School: a sizeable amount of students don’t know about STEM careers beside the nebulous “doctor,” “nurse,” and “engineer.” With new, diverse, and specialized STEM careers growing and expanding rapidly, especially here
This is a two-day Makerspace lesson in which students work in teams to create JavaScript apps using snippets of code. Using a custom-designed app, each student will be given random snippets of code to choose from.
This language arts lesson plan is for students to watch two videos, and then read an article about how women and minorities are currently being underrepresented in STEM fields.
In this ETP, students will be placed into five different groups. In each group, students will be given engineer roles and they will need to collaborate in order to meet the needs of their customer base. Each group will receive a base model of a Raft.
