Often in the science classroom, I have students create and give a presentation that highlights what they learned about a topic.
Effective collaboration and communication is a key element to any workplace. This ETP will address developing and implementing technology to streamline professional norms and collaboration during weekly Professional Development meetings in the 7th grade team of educators.
The goal of this ETP is to introduce and practice the engineering design process in a fun and high interest manner: by designing a balloon “rocket” that uses a straw and various types of string to travel a distance in the fastest possible time.
The goal of this ETP is to engage my colleagues in a meaningful discussion and activity around collaboration. Collaboration is a 21st century skill educators strive to model and teach to their students.
This statistics activity promotes working with a team to accomplish a project that requires collaboration, data collection, research, and ability to use technology to communicate your results within a short deadline.
Students will create a water bottle rocket while working collaboratively in groups. The groups will be asked to collect and analyze data and then improve upon their design. After a further launch they will then present their findings and data in a classroom presentation.
In this ETP, students will be placed into five different groups. In each group, students will be given engineer roles and they will need to collaborate in order to meet the needs of their customer base. Each group will receive a base model of a Raft.
Students will communicate and collaborate on “How to Do/Create Something.” They will learn how to effectively communicate, plan, organize, evaluate, synthesize, and publish their project through writing and digitally.
