Chemistry happens in the world around us, not just in a lab. Every time we cook or clean, it's chemistry in action. Chemists actually spend a great deal of time writing and reading science literature in order to communicate their results and ideas to one another.
Students learn the basics of photovoltaic cells and create a whole-class kinetic model to explain the processes behind them. Students use this information to engineer a photovoltaic cell to generate the most electricity possible using different berry juices.
The goal of this ETP is for students to model a mathematical concept learned during the semester. Each student will create an animated PowerPoint presentation, with a partner, in which they apply a self-selected concept or formula to a real life situation.
